I notice a majority of your songs seem louder in the second half, which is immediately visible from their waveform, and even without looking at that, it makes music by the The-Cupbearer predictable. I expect more layers of sound to gradually appear, and they appear.

This is a personal preference, but a repetitive pattern that's in the foreground and easily discernible doesn't sit right with me. In this case, the strings. I like "Surrendering to the Embrace of the Living Stone" much better because it lacks proper instrumentation.

The-Cupbearer responds:

I see your opinion, and it is a valid one to have.

I am curious to know though if you have listened to a goodly portion of my works, as your review implies. It is true that a lot of my tracks "seem louder in the second half", but that is a natural consequence of a more traditional song progression. However, there are a good number of exceptions to that rule in my discography, such as "Approaching Silence" and "Mechanical Memories Cast into the Boötes".

If you liked "Surrendering to the Embrace of the Living Stone", then you will be pleased to know that an album featuring songs in that vein will be releasing soon. I hope you will stick around for it.

Thank you for your honest thoughts.

As your tags suggest, indeed there is a lot of reverb, enough that the drums, especially the drum breaks, struggle to pop up. I can hear them just fine, but it's like they're not truly at the forefront and since you made breakcore, I assume the drums were the focus. Before the 30 second mark, there is too much reverb on the drums, which, yeah, is the production style, but is counterintuitive with a dense arrangement. Would've been better if they were just quieter, but with normal amount of echo. Also, the drop at 1:44 seems random, because it's very short and there aren't others in the song.

Kz-N responds:

thanks for the feedback, i didnt really look at the reverb thing that way - as i mostly did want the drums to sit rather laid back in the mix in favour of everything else taking the main stage, also as for 1:44 its just a chord change that continues until the end of the track.
that said this mix is kind of a nightmare in general

6 minutes is far too long as there isn't a lot going on. I can hear only a single melody and two beats looping forever, and while there are other background sounds, it takes very long for anything to change. The bridge at 3:19 sounds so empty, again showing there is little going on.

Nothing interesting.
